Imec is a world-leading innovation hub for nanoelectronics research with two state-of-the-art cleanrooms.

A cleanroom is 10,000 times cleaner than a hospital operating room. Preparing to enter it is a long and involved process that takes up a lot of time. Once you come out, the whole procedure is repeated again, in reverse. A large observation window only offers limited detail of what goes on in the cleanroom.

Fact: By request of the client, the VR environment is not 100% accurate and provides only an overall experience of the cleanroom.
Outcome: A digital twin in virtual reality based of a physical cleanroom where people can receive instructions on how to behave in different situations
